Read this before employing Polish Asbestos Removal: I employed Polish Asbestos Removal to remove asbestos containing material that had been found in my property: an asbestos water tank, asbestos cement board in a fireplace, and asbestos cement board around the bath. Getting that booked in was fine, no issues there. However, the issues came in the removal process. The gentleman who came to remove the asbestos containing material proceeded to cut the water tank in half - there was no need for this to be done, as the water tank was accessible via the stairs and a door (i.e. no small loft hatch to navigate). It was large and heavy, granted, but could have been removed by 2 people. I firmly believe the best solution would have been for them to come back another day, with 2 people, and remove it safely, rather than sawing it up inside my home. One section of bath panel was removed (one was missed) and the section of bath panel that was removed appears to have been manually pulled off of the bath frame, rather than the screws holding it in place being removed and the bath panel then being removed safely. In both of these instances, a risk of asbestos fibres being released into the air has been needlessly created, meaning a risk to health for both myself, and the gentleman doing the work. As I was concerned about the risk of asbestos fibres, I asked for a reassurance air test to be done. The reassurance air test (done by a separate company) has discrepancies surrounding the time the air test was done for - it should be done for 30 minutes, and the air test document shows it was only done for 20 minutes. The air test document also states very clearly, that they confirm all asbestos containing material has been removed from the site, which is also incorrect, as I then found that a section of bath panel had been missed. £250 was paid for an air test I do not feel confident in, whatsoever. I then looked further at the reviews for this company and it is now clear to me that many of their 5 star reviews are not legitimate. I contacted the company with my complaint and concerns on the 17th of August and have not heard back from them. Due to their lack of concern regarding health and safety, and generally poor practices, I will be seeking another company to remove the asbestos containing material they missed, as there is no way I would feel comfortable having them come back into my property. If you understand the risks surrounding asbestos, I wholeheartedly recommend that you take your business elsewhere.
