How much does Asbestos removal cost in Edinburgh? (2026 price guide)
A licensed asbestos survey typically costs £150-£400 for a standard domestic property, while removal of a small amount, such as a garage roof or artex ceiling, usually runs £500-£1,500. Larger-scale removal from a full roof or multiple rooms generally costs £2,500-£6,000 or more, depending on the type and condition of the material found.
Pricing depends mainly on the type of asbestos identified, since some forms require higher-risk licensed removal than others, the quantity and location within the property, and whether specialist disposal at a licensed facility is needed. Firms must be licensed by the Health and Safety Executive for higher-risk work, and this accreditation is reflected in day rates.
Always confirming a contractor's HSE licence number and insisting on a written waste transfer note protects against both safety and legal risks later.
