Thomas Crompton

Thomas Crompton Demolition Ltd is a family-owned business operating through four generations and was founded over 60 years ago. The group employs in excess of 100 employees. Thomas Crompton is the company's managing director. He is a chartered building engineer and chartered surveyor with over 30 years' experience in the demolition industry. He holds a postgraduate degree in Advanced Industrial Practice (Waste Management) from The University of Northampton and an NVQ Level 7 in Senior Construction Management.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (MCIWM). The company works to BS6187:2011. Based in West Yorkshire, it offers services nationwide. Its main services include demolition and deconstruction, site clearance and reclamation, dismantling and decommissioning, earthworks, asbestos removal, heavy haulage, plant and machinery hire, quarried and aggregate supply, recycling, road sweeper hire, tipper hire, and tipping facilities.

Bradford-based Thomas Crompton carries out demolition work across West Yorkshire, and reviewers often highlight the scale of the projects the firm handles alongside the expertise of its site teams. Several accounts describe the well-organised management of large demolition schemes, including the controlled takedown of unstable mill buildings and multi-storey housing blocks in the surrounding area, with the crews said to possess the equipment and know-how for complex structural removal. A recurring theme is reliability; customers describe the company as dependable and efficient from start to finish.

Communication also comes up frequently, with one customer noting that a concern about a vehicle route was addressed swiftly after contact was made, which left them impressed by the responsiveness. Friendliness and professionalism are mentioned repeatedly, and the service is often characterised as smooth and well run. Some reviewers point to problems with the conduct of drivers away from sites, and a number describe slow or unsatisfactory responses when complaints were raised about vehicles on public roads, with billing and accident disputes proving difficult to resolve. The general picture combines capable large-scale demolition with inconsistent handling of grievances after work is done.
