Shelter Environmental Ltd - Asbestos Surveying, Asbestos Sampling & Asbestos Management

Shelter Environmental Ltd is an independent specialist providing full asbestos management services to the public and private sectors. The company is locally based and covers Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire and across the South of England. It provides asbestos surveys, testing and management plans to ensure businesses are compliant and domestic customers are safe. Its work ranges from small-scale refurbishment and asbestos home buyers surveys to large demolition and industrial projects.

It offers management surveys for daily risks and refurbishment & demolition surveys to locate ACMs for safe working conditions. It also provides pre-purchase, reinspection, and HMO surveys. Asbestos management services include asbestos register creation, annual compliance inspections, project management, and consultancy. It uses UKAS accredited lab partners for sampling and analysis of suspected materials. A same-day service option for asbestos testing is available.

Promptness and professionalism run through the accounts left by customers of this Southampton asbestos specialist, whose work covers surveying, sampling and management. The inspector named most often is Scott, and several accounts describe him as knowledgeable, thorough and reassuring when dealing with a subject many find daunting, whether the property is an early 1900s house undergoing renovation or a portfolio of business sites. Several customers mention the speed of the response, from a quick reply to emails and a prompt quote through to attendance on site and the delivery of reports and findings.

Pricing is described as fair and, in one case, lower than other local firms, while the communication before, during and after each visit is singled out as clear and attentive. Reports are praised for their attention to detail and for being produced efficiently, and clients who have returned for further surveys note that the standard has stayed consistent. The friendliness and patience shown while explaining findings, and the care taken during inspections, come up as often as the technical expertise itself. Work has covered domestic renovation projects and multiple commercial premises.
